All scores both home and away must be posted and players are responsible for posting their own scores. The Handicap Chair will keep all score cards for the weekly games, verify postings, and if required, correct and notify the player of any corrections. She will also keep the official list of player handicaps, as provided by the Pro Shop. The maximum course handicap for all TLGL events is 36.
For posting, we follow the Net Double Bogey (see below) procedure. However, for the weekly game, the score card should reflect the actual stroke count, except for those games where “Rule 21.2 Applies”. (Claret Cup, Member-Member and Member-Guest are among some of the events where this rule does not apply.)
Net Double Bogey
This procedure sets the maximum score a player can post on any hole, and is based on the player’s course handicap as follows. It becomes effective for score posting January 1, 2020.
· Net Double Bogey = two-over par plus any handicap strokes received (pops) on the hole
· Pops are allocated according to the handicap rating of the hole being played
Example 1:
- This player has a course handicap of 12
- She would receive 1 handicap stroke on the 12 most difficult holes
- Net double bogey on those 12 holes would be two-over par plus one
- Net double bogey for the easiest 6 holes would be two-over par
Example 2:
- This player has a course handicap of 25
- She would receive 2 handicap strokes on the 7 most difficult holes (7=25-18)
- Net double bogey on those 7 holes would be two-over par plus two
- Net double bogey for the easiest 11 holes would be two-over par plus one
